EDUCATION AND TICKET SALES ASSISTANT
Full-time position
The Education and Ticket Sales Assistant assists in the daily operations of the Education Department in regards to educational sales, assisting customers, data entry and preparing reports and daily deposits. This position requires a heavy emphasis on educational sales. This position will assist in BalletMet ticket sales and subscriptions and work in the Box Office during performances. This position will also assist the Artistic Director. Strong customer service, communication and computer skills and an interest in the arts are required. TicketMaster experience preferred. This position reports to the Director of Education and Artistic Director. This position will also work in partnership with the Director of Marketing and Group Sales Manager as necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Morning at the Ballet sales (reservation, invoicing, follow-up, study guide distribution.)
- Contact schools for updates on contact information and postcard distribution.
- Prepare and distribute brochure/mailing materials to schools and other community venues
- Prepare Education daily deposits and reports
- Prepare Education sales reports
- Assist in subscriber ticket exchanges and sales
- Assist in Box Office at the theatre during performance weeks
- Assist Group Sales Manger as available and necessary
- Set-up accounts in TicketMaster
- Enter data in Raiser's Edge
- Provide support for Morning at the Ballet program
- Administer Kidtix program
- Other education duties as assigned
- Assist Artistic Director with guest artist arrangements, securing music rights and visas, various correspondences, travel and other duties as assigned.

HOURS:
8:30-5:30 pm Monday- Friday (Exceptions will be made when at the theatre to help coordinate Morning at the Ballet). Hours during Performance weeks will vary to provide Box Office coverage for evenings and weekends. Special hours as assigned.

DANCE ACADEMY INSTRUCTORS
BalletMet is looking to fill positions at the BalletMet Dance Academy beginning summer and fall 2008.
EARLY CHILDHOOD BALLET INSTRUCTOR--Part-time
Experienced in teaching dance to children ages 3-9 years. Open to training and instruction in assimilating syllabus materials. Saturdays required, possible additional weekday/evening hours. Flexible for the Gahanna Vista Plaza and/or downtown locations.
ADULT BALLET INSTRUCTOR--Part-time
Experienced and open to teaching adult beginners through Beginning/Intermediate. Open to training and instruction in assimilating syllabus materials. Work with other instructors to insure consistency throughout. Evening hours and possible Saturdays. Flexible for the Gahanna Vista Plaza and/or downtown locations.
TAP INSTRUCTOR--Part-time
Ability to teach various levels of Tap including Beginning to Advanced. Open to training and instruction in assimilating syllabus materials. Work with other instructors to insure consistency throughout. Available Saturday hours as well as evening weekday hours. Downtown location.
JAZZ INSTRUCTOR--Part-time
Ability to relate and teach several levels as well as upper-most levels of Jazz. Open to training and instruction in assimilating syllabus materials and work. Work with other instructors to insure consistency throughout. Evening hours--downtown and possible Gahanna Vista Plaza location.
Based upon applicants areas and levels of expertise, positions may be able to be combined into more of a full-time position.

TEACHING ARTISTS
BalletMet is seeking to increase its Teaching Artist roster for the 2008-2009 season. Eligible candidates should have experience teaching in public schools and/or private studios working with a variety of age groups. Teaching Artists need to be organized, responsible and energetic. Applicants should possess a desire to share the art of dance with the community. A degree in dance or a related field and/or performance experience is preferred but not necessary. Specialization in a variety of dance styles is encouraged. Work hours are primarily during school hours but may include some weekends or evenings. Teaching Artists are considered contract labor and are not eligible for benefits.

COSTUME APPRENTICE
BalletMet is seeking a Costume Apprentice for its 2008-09 season. The Costume Apprentice will assist in all aspects of costume construction, shop maintenance and the running of wardrobe during the season's productions, tours and special events. The successful applicant will be self-motivated, have intermediate to advanced sewing skills and a bachelor's degree in Costuming or equivalent professional experience. Training in wigs and makeup is a plus. The contract is non-renewable and spans 37 non-consecutive weeks beginning mid-August 2008. A weekly stipend is provided.
